Tom Rouse

VP, Patent Operations

As Vice President, Patent Operations, Tom leads a team of patent professionals which oversees services such as patent evaluations and portfolio assessment for all the businesses which Marconi supports.

Tom joined Marconi from his own IP consultancy business, prior to which he spent twenty years at Qualcomm in a range of patent related roles, most recently as VP & Legal Counsel, IP Policy, leading IP advocacy for the licensing business unit, and previously as Chief Patent Counsel. Tom has extensive experience in developing and managing complex IP portfolios as well as supporting strategic transactions.

With a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from UCLA and a JD from Loyola Law School, Tom is admitted to the California State Bar and licensed to practice at the US Patent & Trademark Office. He began his legal career at the law firm of Lyon & Lyon in Los Angeles, following five years in engineering roles at Teledyne Microelectronics.
