Laurie is an intellectual property attorney with more than a decade of experience resolving disputes between patent owners and technology developers. Her extensive involvement in matters relating to standards development organizations and fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory (FRAND) licensing terms will be invaluable as Teletry works to assist global smartphone manufacturers in gaining access to BlackBerry’s extensive portfolio of innovative technologies.
Prior to joining Teletry, Laurie was a Principal in the law firm of McKool Smith. Her law practice spanned many aspects of intellectual property law, with a focus on cases involving allegations of patent infringement and competitive violations in patent licensing. Laurie has counseled members of the telecommunications industry regarding patent licensing matters in more than a dozen countries, and she often speaks at conferences on issues relating to standard essential patents.
Laurie earned a B.S. in Chemistry from Southwestern University and a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law. Laurie and her husband enjoy skiing, hiking, and exploring the outdoors with their two children.
